Bob Peyton joined Burlington Capital in 1994 as President of Agribusiness Partners International (API), a $100 million private equity fund formed with the investment support of the US government agency Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), which provided a guarantee for downside risk for the equity investors in the fund. API invested in and helped develop eight companies in food production, processing, and packaging in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Georgia. Mr. Peyton currently serves as Managing Director for Burlington Capital International, with a focus on developing ag business globally. Mr. Peyton is also a member of an investment committee for an Ag Tech investment fund focused on Nebraska based companies.
Mr. Peyton was born and raised on a wheat & livestock farm in south central Kansas. From 1967 until 1983, Mr. Peyton served with Cargill Inc., primarily as a commodity trader with several commodity trading assignments and management positions throughout the USA and one assignment in the European headquarters in Geneva Switzerland. Mr. Peyton also served as Assistant VP and Region Manager of the Southern Region for Cargill, which was primarily a grain export region.
From 1983 to 1993, Mr. Peyton served as President of Peavy Grain North America with ConAgra Foods. While with ConAgra, Mr. Peyton served as President of ConAgra Trading Company, Executive Vice President of ConAgra International, and President of ConAgra Eastern Europe and Former Soviet Union.
Mr. Peyton has been married to Sally Canady Peyton for over 40 years. The couple share four children and five grandchildren. Mr. Peyton graduated in 1967 with a BS in Ag Economics from Kansas State University.
